TERAGRAM SELECTED BY INTERNET SECURITIES, INC. TO PROVIDE LINGUISTIC TECHNOLOGIES FOR REAL–TIME ONLINE FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Cambridge, MA — July 30, 2008 — Teragram, a division of SAS and the leading provider of multilingual natural language processing technologies, has been selected by Internet Securities, Inc. (ISI Emerging Markets) to provide taxonomy management, automatic metadata generation and entity and events extraction technology in multiple languages. ISI provides hard–to–get information on more than 80 emerging markets through a suite of electronic business information products, including the Emerging Markets Information Service. Teragram’s linguistic tools will be used to process information from 16,000 local and global publications, automatically tag documents as they enter the system, categorize documents and filter them into taxonomies. The Emerging Markets Information Service aggregates and produces unique content including full–text news articles, financial statements, company information, industry analyses, equity quotes, macroeconomic statistics and market&8211;specific information.

ISI needed to process content in multiple languages, since its primary focus is reporting financial information on emerging markets, including areas of Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia. Since most of ISI’s information resources are local and regional media, research institutions, regulatory bodies and stock exchanges, ISI needed Teragram’s tools to process documents in many languages.

For example, if ISI’s primary subscribers—which include investment banks, corporations, law firms, insurance companies, universities and libraries—need to quickly access information on the emerging telecommunications market in Brazil, Teragram’s tools go to work within the Emerging Markets Information Service, parsing documents and helping to deliver the exact information that is requested. The end users then receive multiple forms of information from different sources—company, industry news and more—all targeted to the market they’re researching.

“Teragram’s technologies meet our needs to process large amounts of news and company information in multiple languages quickly and efficiently,” said Antonio Monteiro, chief information officer, ISI. “These tools work behind the scenes in our Emerging Markets Information Service to streamline content delivery to our customers, giving them the information they need on demand.”

“Teragram specializes in providing highly scalable, adaptable linguistic solutions across multiple languages,” said Yves Schabes, president and co–founder of Teragram. “We’re happy to provide the technology framework for ISI’s information delivery platform and look forward to expanding our reach within the financial services community.”
